The 2019 Basketball World Cup will be held in eight Chinese cities from August 31 to September 15 in 2019. Foshan is the only one of the eight host cities that needs to build new venues. It is reported that Foshan International Sports Culture and Performing Arts Arena is the largest of the four major venues in Guangdong. Known as the NBA-level venue, it is expected to be in operation in October 2018. Foshan International Sports Culture and Performing Arts Arena will host some of the preliminary events in Asian division for the 2019 Basketball World Cup.

Foshan International Sports Culture and Performing Arts Arena is located in the CBD area of Foshan New City. It covers an area of 38,900 square meters, with a total building area of 152,400 square meters. It plans to be equipped with 15,000 audience seats, 56 VIP boxes and more than 2300 parking spaces, which makes it the largest individual sports cultural facilities in South China.
