In the morning of March 31, the grand event “Foshan 50km Hike” themed “Beautiful Foshan, Hiking Forwards” carried on in five districts of Foshan. People from different countries and regions joined the carnival of the sports event. Dressed in sportswear and walking along the five 50km hiking routes, the parade moved towards Foshan New City together, which formed a beautiful scenery and went popular among Foshan people’s WeChat Moments.

Among the crowds, an eye-catching team of foreign friends formed a delegation to take part in the 50km Hike in Foshan. Through the unique hiking experience, more than 60 foreign friends measured the changes of Foshan and felt the achievements of city upgrading.

Invited by Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Foshan City, Patrick from London joined the 50km Hike this year. In August, Patrick first came to Foshan and he thinks that Foshan is a very beautiful city. He is interested in Foshan Kung-fu. “It’s really bustling here, and I will record the wonderful moment for my families and friends.” Patrick said.

“Hello, everyone, China, and beautiful Foshan!” Grigory, from Russia, greeted Foshan citizens in Chinese. Grigory has been in Foshan for 7 years. He said that over the past few years, Foshan has built many new buildings and new parks, which makes it very comfortable and happy to live in Foshan with family and friends.

Walking by the riverside parks during the hike, Foshan city’s changes not only win praise from foreign friends, but also make Foshan residents feel excited. Ms Li who has lived in Foshan for more than two decades, witnesses every change in the city. Today, she joined the 50km Hike with her daughter and her friend. “Nanhai is a very comfortable place, and it is very happy to live here.” Ms Li said.

The Alumni Association of Peking University of Guangdong Province also came to experience the scenery of Foshan during hiking. The 72-year-old president led more than 40 members from different areas of Guangdong, hoping to recall the experience of their campus life.
