Dragon Boat Square

Covering an area of about 165,000 square meters, Foshan is the first open urban waterfront leisure green space with dragon boat viewing, exhibition, sports, leisure and other functions. Since 2014, Asian Dragon Boat Championship has been held there for 3 years in a row.

The overall appearance of Dragon Boat Square is designed with the shape of a dragon, and the three art architectures located in the “head, middle and end” of the body is composed of thousands of pieces of metal components, presenting highly ornamental and modern sense, meanwhile, it has the function of preventing sunshade in summer and playing a role as rain shelter in rainy season. On the ground of Dragon Boat Square, there are stainless steel blocks carved with prizes of Foshan dragon boat teams’ winning awards. All of these allow visitors to have a deeper understanding of Foshans dragon boat culture.

Cherry Scenery Spot 

It’s the first demonstration site for cherry planting in the city and there are more than 280 famous varieties of cherry blossoms. There are three varieties including "China Red", "Southland early Cherry" and "Guangzhou Cherry", whose flowering phases are from December to March of the following year.

Paper Cut Gallery

75 meters long, it is a rhombus steel corridor, using the traditional folk craft of Foshan "paper-cut" as the expression technique, presenting the traditional culture of Foshan (dragon boat, lion dance, martial arts, Cantonese opera) and the old appearance of Foshan New City (Century Lotus Sports Center, Fang Tower, Liang’s Garden and Qinghui Garden). Through the action of light at night, it makes people have a feeling of passing through the the tunnel et a person be in it, like the feeling of passing through the time tunnel.

Freshwater Mangrove

Freshwater mangroves were first introduced and planted in Foshan, with an area of about 5, 000 square meters and four mangrove varieties of about 20,000 roots, making it the largest freshwater mangroves in the city. Now, each plant is more than 2 meters, providing a habitat for the survival and reproduction of a great number of fishes, shrimps, crabs, shellfish, birds and insects.

Open-air Swimming Pool

The open-air swimming pool, which opened in 2012, is the largest free open-air swimming pool in Guangdong Province. It covers an area of about 40,000 square meters, a water area of 12,000 square meters, a beach of 7,500 square meters and a depth of about 1.6 meters. It can accommodate 2000 people. The opening hour is from May to October, 14: 30-21: 30. There are life jackets free for children below 1.4m and there is free cold water showers, changing rooms and etc. Since 2012, the total number of swimmers received is about 1.75 million.

Wetland Park

It covers an area of about 100,000 square meters. With the theme of "ecology, nature", the design and construction of the whole project is based on the natural characteristics of the Dongping River. Through the restoration of the riverbank buffer zone, the restoration of the shoal along the river and form them into a variety of ecological water bodies such as shoals, floodplains and etc. protecting the ecological environment of the original river beach to the maximum extent.

Colorful Terrace

With a length of about 350 meters, the “Colorful Terrace” taking dragon boat culture as its background has planted different colors of plants on five irregular terraces. During flower blooming seasons, the terrace shows a well-arrange color. At night, the RGB lights on the five colored terraces are open, and the gradually changing light color is layered to render the entire terraced field. The five colored terraces are close to the Dongping River, which is the best place to watch the Dragon Boat Race before and after the Dragon Boat Festival.

Ling Feng

Located at the highest point of the rockery, there are wooden trestle roads steps and you can enjoy the beauty of the landscape belt after climbing high.

Dongping Bridge

With a length of 1,300 meters and two-way eight lanes, it is a steel-structure bridge which came into service in 2006. It is one of the most important bridges connecting Chancheng and Shunde in Foshan.

Five-men Football Field

The five-men football field is about 2, 800 square meters and it is open for use in 2013. The football field has fully utilized the "shadow space" at the bottom of Dongping Bridge for renovation. The field is completely free of charge, and the public only need to book it by telephone one week in advance.

Musical Fountain

The water column beats with the melody of the music. At night, against the background of the lights, it becomes a place for many couples to make a proposal.

Children Park

The park covers an area of about 19,000 square meters, a series of children facilities such as model racing ground, childrens football field, childrens rock climbing, combination slide, quincuncial piles, adventure boards, rope bridges, sand ponds and rope ladders are open for free. There are also art sculptures with childlike interest scattered in the park.

A place to release your dreams

The stainless steel sculpture of "Flying Dreams" that’s located on the west of the Childrens Park is the work of Longping, a Beijing sculptor. The work consists of a large number of circles forming a space shape like a pottery bottle, with numerous white paper aircraft sculptures inside. The white paper airplanes forms a dragon shape on one side and it clearly outlines the gate of the ancestral temple on the front.

Dream·Foshan

Dream·Foshan is a beautiful work of combining the words “梦”and “佛山” with stainless steel material, which conveys the idea that Foshan is a city of "harmony" between man and man, man and nature. The work is 2.93 meters long, 1.93 meters wide and 5 meters high, expressing the yearning and respect for Foshan.

Flower Column

Flower Column sculpture is one of the award-winning works of Foshan International City Sculpture Exhibition. It is composed of three independent columnar sculptures. The three sculptures are made up of three Lingnan elements including martial art, dragon boat race, and Cantonese opera. With a height of 2.5 meters, the column is blue and it uses Cantonese opera design; With a height of 3 meters, the column is red and it uses martial art design. With a height of 3.5 meters, the column is yellow and it uses dragon boat race design.

Foshan is the village for martial art, Cantonese opera and Dragon Boat Festival. Foshan paper-cut has 500 years of history. As a modern city that combines historical heritage and modern elements and the characteristics of folk art paper-cut style, Foshan becomes a Chinese Historical and Cultural City. The use of modern means to show the three flowers shape means Foshan peoples friendship.

Flower Seas with Lotus Rhyme

“Flying over the Green City” is one of the highlights of green projects in Foshan. It covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters. It’s striving to build into a belt and a landscape of flowers. During different seasons, different flowers such as persian chrysanthemum, sunflower, marigold, sage, golden trumpet-tree, pandelius davidifolia are planted there.

Wood-carved painting Gallery

Foshan wood-carved painting is a famous folk New year painting in South China. The gallery is about 65 meters long and it shows 16 wood-carved paintings by the Feng’s Family in Foshan. The theme of the wood-carved paintings is similar to that of the door gods of Guangdong, such as favorite idols, historical figures and drama stories of General with knives, the god of wealth, bringing blessings home, harmony two immortals, well-fed and well-clothed and etc.

Welcome

Located on the west side, welcome is the main entrance to River Bank Park in Foshan New City. Right in the front there is a green lawn with tall sculptures of seven letters of “welcome”, meaning warm welcome for visitors. 7. 7 high sculptures ranging from 5 to 7 meters high, with green plants planted on the front. The height of the seven sculptures range in height from 5 to 7 meters, with green plants planted on the front.

Mango basketball ground

The Mango Basketball Ground covers an area of about 7,500 square meters, and because it is surrounded by a variety of native tree species of mango, it is named "Mango Basketball Court." There are two standard basketball grounds and there are stepped seats on the surrounding lawn. "Jordans way" is built around the ground to show basketball knowledge. The Mango Basketball Ground was open free of charge in July 2012. 

Skateboard Field

Located on the east side of Cherry Scenery Spot, the skateboard covers an area of about 1000 square meters, which is designed in accordance with the relevant specifications of the Technical Committee of the Asian International Extreme Sports Association (A.X.F.). It belongs to grade C extreme sports venue standard, and it can be used as a place for skateboard, straight row wheel, BMX (technical treadmill) and etc. The slideway adopts whole-steel structure, and there is a "U" shaped place for skilled skateboarders to perform their skills(the highest point is 1.5m), and there is also a low-difficulty slideway for beginners (the height is only 20cm).

Green Stage

Located at the westernmost side of Riverside Park and back to Dongping River, the stage is built in 2012 and covers an area of 200 square meters. In front of the stage is an open, flat, pure natural green lawn. The lawn area is more than 3000 square meters. A 300-meter long viewing bridge surrounds the stage and the lawn and you can overlook the scenery of Dongping River and parks on the bridge. Since the stage was built, more than 20 activities in various types have been held there has been held there.
