Walking through Foshan streets that are surrounded by old trees, do you know where is the oldest kapok tree hidden in Foshan? The "grandfather" of kapok tree located in Nanzhuang Chancheng is said to have been planted during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. Combined with growth environment, growth characteristics and DBH growth model estimation, the field personnel  estimates that the tree has reached 483 years old.

According to an old man nearby, the tall and upright trunk is the same as when he was young. As time goes by, it turned from a “young man” with strong strength to an “old man”.

People who have been to the Red Kapok Park in Jiujiang Town must have been impressed by these two giant kapok trees. A large piece of bright red looks like a mass of burning flames.

Two kapok trees over a hundred years old are blooming every March. Antique buildings and red kapok are set against each other.

There are still many such kapok trees in Foshan. It seems that neighborhood has been accustomed to the existence of these old kapok trees and the years seem to leave no trace on it. According to the old man who passes by, the city has changed year by year, but the kapok has not changed at all as if it had been fixed in the times.
