"A public library in Foshan City, south Chinas Guangdong Province, has attracted lots of visitors due to its 16.2-meter-high wall, formed by thousands of books on shelves. Readers can choose books as they walk along the staircases in front of the spectacular wall." as written on a Sina Weibo post on July 12th from China Global Television Network (CGTN), an official international channel operated by CCTV. 

From the post, tons of Chinese netizens have shown their interests in visiting this high-profile library, named "READERS". Located on the second floor of Nanhai TEEMALL, the library was constructed with a joint effort of Foshan and Guangzhou. 

　　A giant wall that houses a rich collection of books

Tucked away at "Financial High-tech Zone Station" on Guangfo Line, "READERS" offers a brand-new reading space where readers are allowed to borrow and return their "picks" in both Guangzhou and Foshan. Thanks to this interchangeable management system, local residents are now offered less time-consuming, synchronized and intelligent library services.

One of the selling points that define "READERS" lies in its aesthetic design, setting it apart from traditional libraries in China. In a space of around 1,000 square meters, a 16.2-meter-high titanic book wall spans the entire three-story building. The location, gathering up over 30,000 volumes, includes a reading area tailored for children, a reading corner of classics and an intelligent self-serivce area. Given such strong visual impact, readers wouldnt bother a long haul for a visit. 

　　Multiple campaigns held at "READERS" to ignite the passion for reading

Statistically, since its opening in October 2020 to the end of June 2021, "READERS" has received 244,500 visitors, issued 5,005 memberships, lent out 60,900 volumes and hosted 61 campaigns that attracted 5,224 people. It is estimated that by October 2021, readership at this library will reach 2.7 times and readers service will be taken to the next level. 

At "READERS", apart from reading books, young children are free to try out tech-based facilities like "kaleidoscope"
