Updates on COVID-19 cases in Guangdong (June 10)

 

On June 9, Foshan reported no new local confirmed case.

 

On June 9, 4 new local cases were confirmed in Guangzhou. Guangzhou also reported another 2 local cases that was previously asymptomatic.

 

As of 24:00 on June 9, Guangzhou has reported 3 confirmed COVID-19 cases imported from overseas (2 from Malaysia and 1 from Bangladesh). 12 asymptomatic cases from overseas have been reported, with 10 in Guangzhou (4 from Cambodia, 3 from Malaysia, 2 from Bangladesh and 1 from the US), 1 in Shenzhen (from Indonesia) and 1 in Foshan (from Iraq). 3 patients were discharged on June 9.

 

By 24:00 on June 8, Guangdong has reported a total of 2582 confirmed COVID-19 cases (with 1059 imported cases). Currently there are 170 patients in hospital.

 

Stay put during the holiday

 

Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province issued a reminder that residents in cities with medium and high-risk areas are suggested not to go out for travel during the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival holiday and not to leave the province unless necessary to help curb the spread of the pandemic. When entering the public venues, people are advised to follow the COVID-19 prevention and control measures such as scanning the QR code, having their temperature measured, wearing masks, keeping social distance of at least 1 meter, washing hands frequently and avoiding gathering.
