A shiny "Galaxy" lights up flowers in Shishan Town
When the night falls, the field of dragon fruit flowers with numerous lights is like an endless golden ocean or a brilliant galaxy. This stunning scene will definitely catch your eyes in darkness.
Dragon fruit flowers, whose petals are as white as snow and stamens are as yellow as golds, are around the size of ones palm in full blossom.
Normally open for only one short night, this kind of flowers is like a mysterious, yet beautiful fairy who only appear at night.
This large plantation base, covering an area of 12,000 square meters, is expected to harvest nearly 5,000 kilograms of dragon fruits in mid-to-late May after flowering period. 
Then why is it necessary to hang lights above flowers? It is actually a newly-introduced planting technique for boosting yields. Supplementing light at nights on plants has been proved to be effective to maintain stable production. 
It is like a great lantern display, isnt it? 
At present, a handful of dragon fruits are already available for harvest. By the end of this month or early June, more will hit the market. Come and pick up fruits by yourselves. Flowering period: from May to October Harvest period: from mid-to-late May to the end of December 
Tips: 1. The dragon fruit field is close to a train track and trains go by from time to time. For your safety, please keep a distance from it. 2. One flowering period only last for a few days and hence it is not advised to come without inquiring the base first. 3. One is recommended to take a stroll or ride a bicycle along the Beijiang Dike in the daytime before sightseeing in the field at night.
