On April 29th, an awarding ceremony was held in Foshan to commemorate Sangyuanwei Polder Embankment System as World Heritage Irrigation Structure, as hosted by International Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (ICID) and Chinese National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (CNCID).

The inclusion of Sangyuanwei as one of the World Heritage Irrigation Structures is not simply an honor felt by Foshan people, but also a national pride, which also signifies great recognition from the international community.

The award was first announced back in last December on an online conference of the 71st ICID Executive Council, making Sangyuanwei the first project of its kind in Guangdong to take the honor. Up next, built on Sangyuanweis success, Foshan will continue with its rural revitalization that secures eco-friendly rural areas and booming agriculture so that Sangyuanwei can become a brand of Foshan.
