On October 20, the Hurun China Rich List 2020 released by Hurun Research Institute showed that He Xiangjian family of Midea and Yang Huiyan family of Country Garden tied for 6th with a fortune of 225 billion yuan.   

The 78-year-old He Xiangjian with his family ranked 6th with a fortune of 225 billion yuan, 45 billion yuan more than last year. Last year, the operating revenue of Midea totaled 278.2 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 7%.

The 39-year-old Yang Huiyan with her family also ranked 6th with a fortune of 225 billion yuan, 50 billion yuan more than last year. In the first half of 2020, the total income of Country Garden reached 185 billion yuan.

In addition, 27 stockholders of Haitian Flavoring & Food joined the list. The fortune of “the King of Soy Sauce” Pang Kang of Haitian Flavoring & Food has increased by 129% to 195 billion yuan, ranking 11th on the list (1 place higher than last year). The fortune of Cheng Xue of Haitian Flavoring & Food has increased by 103% to 65 billion yuan, ranking 57th on the list (37 places higher than last year).

The number of people on the rich list has increased to 2,398, which has witnessed a new record with 59 rich people from Foshan, 23 more than 2019. According to the residence of the rich, the number of wealthy in Foshan ranked 8th in China.
