On October 11, the launching ceremony of 2020 Guicheng International Documentary Art Theater Screening Season of Golden Kapok Film Exhibition of Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival China (GZDOC) as well as the “Inherit the Spirit of Dragon Boat and Present the Charm of the City” Dragon Boat Drifting Featured Forum were held in Guicheng Art Museum. They have marked the opening of Guicheng screening season and the rapid development of Guicheng’s cultural tourism industry.

  

  

“It was so stunning!” Many people sighed with such emotion after watching the premiere film Dragon Boat Drifting, which recorded Diejiao dragon boat drifting races with the method of full documentary to tell the stories between people and dragon boats, presenting the charm of Chinese traditional folk customs to the public.

  

  

  

Diejiao dragon boat culture, an important part of “Diejiao’s Top 10 Scenery”, is the intangible cultural heritage of Nanhai District, Foshan. The perfect integration of individuals and groups was fully presented in the film to show the core of Nanhai people’s dragon boat spirit of “being the pioneer and working together” and arouse the home complex deep in Diejiao people’s hearts.

  

  

The Art Theater this year will bring 16 excellent films and 3 public forums lasting for 4 months to provide citizens with free great domestic and foreign documentaries. In addition, Qiandenghu Lake Music Festival, International Food Festival, 2020 China International Outdoor Video Carnival and other activities are also under preparation.
