At the establishing ceremony of the team, Jiang Yifu, president of Foshan Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that the city government and relevant departments were extremely concerned about foreign students in Foshan. He hoped that foreign students can enhance their health awareness, take good care of themselves and join hands to fight epidemic. “We expect that international students volunteer to serve those who are suffering difficulties due to the epidemic in Foshan. Let’s tide over the difficulties and we will eventually embrace shared victory together.”

On the same day, the first volunteer group consist of foreign students for epidemic prevention in Foshan was formally established. 17 foreign students from Foshan University, who come from 12 countries, including Italy, the United States, and Turkmenistan, became the first batch of the International Student Epidemic Prevention Volunteer Team in Foshan City.
It is reported that the Foshan Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is currently mobilizing the entire city of Foshan, calling on more international students, business associations, and enthusiastic foreigners to join the volunteer service. In the future, the volunteer team will participate in the epidemic prevention and control work towards foreigners, including communication with related foreigners, humanistic care and other volunteer services.
