As of 24:00 on April 9, 2 covid-19 cases imported from overseas (from the UK and France respectively, both reported by the arrival port) have been confirmed in Guangdong (Guangzhou).

3 COVID-19 cases that had had close contact with previous imported cases were newly confirmed, with 2 reported in Guangzhou (1 in medical observation points and 1 during community screening) and 1 reported in medical observation points in Heyuan.

By 24:00 on April 9, Guangdong has reported a total of 1544 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 1434 discharged patients. So far there has been a total of 8 deaths reported.
