10月7日，佛山三水芦苞独树岗村千叟宴如期而至。近2000位长者齐聚一堂，共享千叟宴，同吃国庆面，共祝祖国好。让我们一起去看一看。

On October 7th, the dinner banquet of Dushugang Village in Sanshui, Foshan, was served as expected. Nearly 2,000 elders gathered together to share the feast and enjoyed the National Day noodles to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. Lets take a closer look.

 

 

浩荡北江下游，悠悠曲河之畔，坐落着一座有着七百多年历史的古老村落——独树岗村。独树岗是中国长寿之乡佛山市三水区的第一大村，全村人口达6300多人，其中超过80岁的长寿老人就有230人。

On the lower reaches of the Beijiang River and the tortuous bank of Qu River stands an ancient village with a history of more than 700 years, which is called Dushugang Village. Dushugang is the largest village in Sanshui, Foshan, the hometown of longevity in China. The village has a population of more than 6,300, of which 230 over 80 years old.

 

10月7日，国庆假期的最后一天，恰逢重阳佳节。97岁的村民蔡赞显和94岁的老伴芦润玲早早就穿戴得整整齐齐，准备去赴一年一度的千叟宴。

On October 7th, the last day of the National Day holiday coincided with the Double Ninth Festival. Cai Zanxian, 97, and his wife, Lu Runling, 94, dressed smartly and ready to go to the annual Banquet.

 

 

对村史颇有研究的老人蔡镜华告诉我们，独树岗村每年举行敬老宴已有600多年的历史。与往年不同，独树岗村今年的千叟宴，有一个全新的主题：“同吃国庆面，共祝祖国好。”

Cai Jinghua, an old man who has known the history of the village, told us that the annual elder banquet in Dushugang Village has a history of more than 600 years. Different from previous years, this year’s has a new theme—“Enjoying National Day noodles to express wishes to motherland".

 

 

听说在村里举办的孝善文化节，要一起吃长寿面为新中国庆生，村中参加寿宴的两千名长者都十分兴奋，离寿宴开始还有一个小时，大家就冒着小雨，撑着雨伞来到了宴会现场。

When hearing that the Filial Piety Culture Festival in the village would prepare longevity noodles to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC, two thousand elderly people in the village were very excited. One hour before the banquet there was light rain, everyone arrived at the scene with an umbrella.

 

佛山市三水区是全国首个富裕型长寿之乡，孝善文化氛围浓厚。芦苞镇独树岗村又被称为孝善村，尊老孝善是村民世代恪守的祖训。

Sanshui is the first wealthy longevity town in China with strong atmosphere of Filial Piety Culture. Dushugang Village in Lubao Town is also known as Filial Piety Village because filial piety is the ancestral motto of the villagers for generations.

 

当天下午5时，千叟宴正式开席。近2000长者举箸品尝“国庆面”，共庆新中国70华诞，共祝老人们健康长寿。

At 5 pm, the banquet officially began. Nearly 2,000 elders tasted the "National Day noodles" and celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC.

 

新中国成立以来，尤其是改革开放以来，独树岗村经济得到快速发展，生活环境不断改善。村民们深知，国家富强，人民才有幸福。愿这敬老的传统，爱国的情怀，代代相传，永不改变。

Since the founding of the Peoples Republic of China, especially since the Reform and Opening-up, the economy of Dushugang Village has developed rapidly and the living environment has continued to improve. The villagers there are aware that only when the country is prosperous can the people have happiness. May the tradition of respecting the old, the feelings of patriotism, be passed down from generation to generation, and never change.
