On October 8, Peoples Daily published The Results of 2018 China Small and Medium-sized Cities Scientific Development Index (1). Five districts in Foshan are listed on the top 100 Comprehensive-strength Districts. Shunde District ranks No.1, Nanhai District ranks No. 2, Chancheng District ranks No. 16, Sanshui District ranks No. 34 and Gaoming District ranks No.42. So far, Shunde has been the first place of the top 100 powerful districts for seven consecutive years.

According to Chinas Urban Competitiveness Report No.16, Foshan ranks 11 on the list of the 2017 China Comprehensive Economic Competitiveness Index Cities and enters the 40 most successful cities in the 40 years of reform and opening up.
