How will the Pearl River Delta Shinkansen Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport develop with coordination in Foshan? On July 11,the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission defined the position of the Pearl River Delta Airport clearly and said they were planning a route for Guangzhan high-speed railway across Gaoming and would consider setting up a site at the new airport.
                                                                                                                                  

According to Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, after the completion of the Pearl River Delta Shinkansen airport, it will mainly meet the needs of the passengers and cargo transportation in the Midwestern and surrounding areas of the Pearl River Delta, jointly forming an international aviation hub with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

In terms of air and water transportation, Guangdong province will guide Zhaoqing and Foshan to study and utilize the Pearl River - Xijiang golden waterway, exploring  the development of air and water transport in combination with the functional positioning of the airport.
