In order to introduce a batch of key projects with high technology, good quality and strong driving capacity, recently Foshan published Foshan “100 billion Output Value Project” Work Program 2018-2019 (hereinafter refer to as work program), which will lead a batch of upstream and downstream related projects with strong industry driving capacity to form an industrial cluster of over 100 billion yuan, adding new impetus to economic development.

The work program proposes that Foshan will achieve breakthroughs in key projects in two years since 2018, and strives to increase more than ten Fortune Global 500 companies, leading industrial enterprises and other large investment projects (including capital increase). In two years, Foshan will work on reserving three clues of projects valued at over 10 billion yuan, 2 clues of projects valued at over 50 billion yuan and one clue of project valued at over 100 billion yuan. And Foshan will make breakthrough in introducing industrial cluster of over 100 billion yuan.

The work program specifies the focus of attracting business, emphasizes the direction of technology innovation and adds new impetus to economic development. First, introduce and cultivate emerging industry, and push the leaping development of emerging industries such as electronic information, biological medicine and new material so as to grasp the commanding height of industrial development. Second, accelerate to joint intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment manufacturing projects such as additive manufacturing, high-performance medical apparatus and instruments, intelligent manufacturing equipment and automatic control system. Third, surrounding advanced manufacturing industry cluster development, joint industrial clusters such as smart home appliances, robots and new energy automobiles and promote industry to move towards middle and high end of value chain.

To realize goals above, the work program deploys eight tasks, including putting forward “strong center” strategy to push five districts to compete, cooperate and develop; municipality, district and town work together to attract business and Foshan Investment Promotion Center takes initiative act; get support from superior departments; state-owned enterprises and assets play a leading role; build multiple-dimension business promotion network; strengthen and implement investment environment policies and advertising methods; continue to strengthen the construction of business promotion carriers and platforms; continue to strengthen overall planning and collaboration.
