In the morning of March 12, 199 children from Huijing Kindergarten took part in the First Writing Ceremony in the Ancestral Temple (Zumiao), Chancheng, Foshan, making best wishes of making progress in study.

 At 8:30, children entered into Confucian temple in order, saluted sculpture of Confucius, and practiced calligraphy with teachers hand by hand. Later, there were a series of activities such as embracing the pen and dotting cinnabar. Finally, all of them made wishes under a tree to hope that they could make progress in study this year.

Thirty First Writing Ceremonies will be held from March to August. The salute to Confucius shows that Foshan puts culture and education in significant place. Children are expected to inherit the culture of respecting teachers through this activity.
