The interchange platform at Guangzhou South Railway Station is expected to complete by 2023.

As one important livelihood project, the construction site is in full swing since February this year, ensuring the project is completed with high quality standards and timely manner.

The interchange platform involves an underground tunnel that connects Foshan Metro Line 2 platform and Guangzhou Metro Line 2&7. Additionally, it will provide a convenient access to railway station.

To overcome the complex underground condition, the 70-meter tunnel is divided into three segments for two-phrase construction. It is expected to be completed by December 2023 and ready for trial operation by the Spring Festival in 2024.

Currently, for passengers travel between Foshan Metro and Guangzhou Metro , they need to exit the metro station and walk for about 400 meters, which takes over 10 minutes for interchange. Once completed, the interchange time would be shorten to less than 5 minutes.

Furthermore, the construction site will then restore its use as a parking lot for taxi. Passengers could access the Guangzhou Metro Line via interchange platform, and access the railway station and other public transportation through ground exit.
