On December 8, the Where Innovation&Startups Emerge (WISE) 2020 King of New Economy Conference kicked off at the Beijing International Conference Center, releasing the list of "36 Outstanding Contributors to Chinas New Economy 2010-2020" and "Top Ten New Economic Cities for Entrepreneurs". Foshan was rated as one of the Top 10 New Economic Cities for Entrepreneurs 2020. 

   

  

The list of the Top Ten New Economic Cities for Entrepreneurs 2020 is based on the comprehensive policy support, capital fever, the number of new economic enterprises, talent reservation of each city and other data dimensions by 36Kr, a science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship integrated service group. 25 new economic frontier cities were selected, and the top 10 cities were finally selected by the majority of entrepreneurs, which represents the most dynamic new economic cities in their opinions. In addition to Foshan, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing, Xian and Shenyang were shortlisted as well. 

  

  

Qiao Yu, Vice Mayor of Foshan, delivered a speech at the conference, introducing that the definition and scope of the "new economy" are constantly changing in the changeable era and situations. However, Foshan people’s minds of reform, opening up, and development remain unchanged. Foshan always has the spirit of "being the pioneer", along with a firm determination to reform, an open and inclusive mind, and actively embraces the new economy. The award of "Top Ten New Economic Cities for Entrepreneurs 2020" is the recognition and praise of Foshans work. He also invited guests to visit Foshan to feel the integrated symbiosis of tradition and modernity, and open up infinite possibilities for the future.
