On July 1, the International Design Center was put into use in Guangdong Industrial Design City. As the third design institution has settled here following Sino-Korean Design Shunde Center and Sino-Franch Design Industry Cooperation Center, it indicates that Shundes industrial design will be more competitive on global market.

Reportedly, covering an area of 8,000 square meters, the International Design Center is divided into several major function areas, including cooperation center, talent introduction & training center, communication center, sale platform and resource sharing platform. With these platforms, more design giants at home and abroad, top talents and cutting-edge technologies will be imported to bolster high-quality R&D, global trade and cooperation between industry-university-research.

Its blueprint reveals that the International Design Center will establish cooperative relationship with international design agencies, such as Hochschule der bildenden Künste Essen (HBK Essen) and Daimler-Mercedes-Benz. Moreover, it also plans to introduce some brand-name home design companies from Italy and France as a way to facilitate the exchange with other countries.

Besides, in order to increase brand awareness on global market, the center intends to export its products through some cross-border e-commerce platforms, like Amazon and eBay. It will also continue to explore more ways for international marketing and brand promotion.

As the International Design Center landed in Shunde where a solid manufacturing foundation has been laid, the innovative design industry of Shunde is expected to receive more recognition across the world and empower the high-quality development of local economy.
